Cokely Wire Rope Ltd. is a long-time company in the Alberni Valley. It was established in 1978 to supply the forestry and fishing industries. Today Cokely employs a group of individuals who are knowledgeable about the products they carry. As a group they have many years of experience in the logging, marine, crane, sawmill and industrial businesses. Currently, Cokely has a staff of 5 full time employees along with 2-3 students.
Cokely understand the needs of its customers allows them to gear their products and services to meet specific needs and provide solutions to all customers' requirements. Being professional means a lot to customers and they know they can depend on Cokely to get them what they need when they need it. Their scope goes beyond the Alberni Valley as they have supplied cables to BC Hydro for dams, cables to BC Ferries-including the cable for the Denman Island Ferry.
Cokely carry a full line of domestic and import products which include wire rope (everything from clothes line cables to cables for dams), wire rope fittings, rope, chain, rigging supplies (shackles, blocks, cable clips) safety and first aid supplies. They also carry a full line of fire extinguisher products as well as doing fire extinguisher servicing. Cokely is unique in that they carry the only truly domestic wire rope on the Island and Lower Mainland. Their blue green wire rope is manufactured in Pointe Claire, Quebec.
Kevin Clarke, the General Manager has been with the firm for the past 25 years, starting out as a rigger in the shop, becoming General Manager 12 years ago. In 2014, Kevin along with his wife, Serena purchased the majority interest in the company. Kevin plays hockey, enjoys golfing with his wife & is a member of the Alberni Gyros Club. He loves Port Alberni, and sees it as a great community to raise kids with the amazing facilities for sports and education. Kevin and Serena also are proud to sponsor Ty Watson House and the Fall Fair.
