What a jewel in the heart of Port Alberni! How many places do you visit that have a store like this one dedicated to the main room in the house? Flandangles has been a Port Alberni fixture for THRITY YEARS! 30! I guess that's why some items are 30% off? Chris Washington is the happy owner of the store having purchased just about one year ago. She has worked in the store for 3 years under the lead of former owner Anne Fleming who passed away for too soon. Still, Anne helped to carve the path for this wonderful store and Chris is taking it to new levels. With 4 additional staff she comments that people are clearly supporting local business by SHOPPING LOCAL! And, she appreciates that support. The store had a wonderful increase in sales through December exceeding targets on all fronts. Chris is a local Port Alberni girl though she acknowledges that she left twice only to return....twice. Chris loves the new ideas coming forward in the community with waterfront activities and is thrilled to be part of the growth. On her off time she enjoys being part of Kiwanis along with her husband Dan who is himself a decades long supporter of that organization. Chris also supports the local Arts scene including Portal Players and she is keen to work with Business Associations to help promote more Small Business Start-ups in the area.
