Category Criteria
1. Small Business Excellence
A business of ten employees or less that has significantly contributed to the betterment of the community. Participation and support of community events, membership and involvement in community groups, and/or involvement with improving the service activities or quality of life will be taken into consideration.
2. Large Business Excellence
A business of eleven plus employees that has made outstanding contributions to the community. The nominee should be well established with the ability to create quality employment opportunities, promotes local economic welfare and is community minded with a sound reputation for providing quality service.
3. Entrepreneur of the Year
An individual or business that recognizes opportunities, accepts, the challenges, takes the risks, starting, expanding or diversifying a business.
4. Customer Service Award
An individual (owner or employee) in any size business who consistently offers exceptional customer service. Someone who truly enjoys their job.
5. Volunteer of the Year
An individual who receives no wage or honoraria, yet contributes above and beyond to the community, individually or through service clubs or organizations.
6. Environmental Award
An individual business or organization that makes a positive difference environmentally within the community.
7. Children & Family Friendly Business
A business that is family friendly, helping to make it easier for families to do their business there.
8. Youth of the Year
An individual or group (under the age of nineteen) that has proven success in studies, or is involved in community services, sports, music, or arts excellence and is a role model to their peers.
9. Citizen of the Year
An individual or couple from the valley that has significantly contributed to the betterment of the community. Participation in community activities, membership or contributions in community groups, and/or involvement with improving service activities or quality of community life.
10. Special Recognition Award
A person or Business who has shown outstanding perseverance, longevity, and service to the community.
11. New Construction
Giving recognition to the owner of a new building project that improves the community and exhibits best practises in architecture, functionality and sustainability
12. Renovation
Giving recognition to the owne of a building renovation project that improves our community while exhibiting best practises in architecture, functionality and sustainability
13. Chamber Spirit Award
General Criteria
- Nominee must have been in the Valley and/or in this business for three years or more
- No consecutive awards
