Kristi Fairholm Mader
Kristi has extensive experience in non-profit and social enterprise sectors in both rural and urban communities. She has a history of community-based research, program design, project management and policy advocacy. She has project managed several research initiatives in British Columbia on topics including social enterprise, labour markets, financial literacy and community-based economy. Kristi founded and managed several social enterprise initiatives, including The Cleaning Solution. Since moving to Vancouver Island, Kristi has been supporting the growth of the social enterprise sector through collaborative and cross sector approaches, and events such as seCatalyst.
Kristi's organization presented at the VIEA Conference held in Nanaimo in October 2014. A very good subject on how Business and Social Efforts can work together. See more about the organization right here:

7:35pm - Mr. Rob English - VP Operations: Canadian Alberni Engineering
Rob is the Vice President of Operations of Canadian Alberni Engineering; a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian Maritime Engineering with headquarters in Dartmouth Nova Scotia.
He spent over 24 years in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Marine Systems Engineer with a wide variety of postings including two postings to the United Kingdom. Later in his Navy career, he moved into project management of ship refits and government contracts. He retired from the Navy in 2009 when the asked him to move his family for the 10th time! Rob then worked with Seaspan for over 4 years on the Frigate Life Extension program and the Joint Support Ship Program. Rob joined CAE and moved to Port Alberni in May of 2014. Since then, CAE has grown from 28 employees to 41 and is seeing renewed interest in work boat building.
Rob is the father/stepfather of seven young adults and a grandfather of four more.
Rob will bring us up to date on the happenings past/present/future for CAE and how this company is helping transform the future of Port Alberni.
