Request for Proposals:
The Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce along with Bear Smart BC an organization working under the umbrella of the BC Ministry of Environment, has partnered up lead a task force in a proposed Signage Development for the Chamber of Commerce/Visitor Center property. Port Alberni has been recognized by Bear Smart BC as one of six Communities in BC that have achieved the stringent criteria required for this designation. Other Bear Smart communities include: Whistler, Naramata, Lion’s Bay, Kamloops, & Squamish.
Our collective desire is to combine the Bear Smart BC accreditation along with a needed ‘Welcome to Port Alberni – part of the Alberni Valley’ so that people travelling know they’re here and are encouraged to stop.
We invite proposals from organizations capable of the development of our desired signage inclusive of the Bear Smart BC reference along with the Welcome message. Our desired sign should be significant in scope rivalling the current signage now visible in places like Parksville BC.
Interested parties are encouraged to contact the Chamber of Commerce for more specific information recognizing that some in kind contributions via McLean Mill are likely part of the program.
Deadline for proposals including graphic designs of concept are required by Friday, November 21st 4:00pm. Subsequent to that the Chamber of Commerce will present a short PPT at our November 26th Dinner Meeting where graphic designs received may be included for public input.
Please contact Bill Collette at 250.724.6535 or via email bill@albernichamber.ca to arrange for a meeting to discuss the proposal.
