The Alberni Valley Hospice Society sustains compassionate care and human dignity by providing support, education and advocacy to individuals and their families facing life-limiting illness, death, and bereavement.
The Alberni Valley Hospice Society (operators of Ty Watson House) is a nonprofit organization that depends on grants, donations, and gifts, to provide the services that ensure loving end-of-life care. We receive less than 15% of our annual operating budget from government sources and rely on the generosity of our donors and small community grants to raise the balance of our operating budget each year.
We can guide you through those difficult conversations that need to happen with your family members concerning future medical needs and your health care wishes. Living with a life limiting illness is demanding on the individual and their loved ones. The Alberni Valley Hospice Society can provide practical, emotional and spiritual support through all stages of illness and bereavement. In addition to our residential hospice, Ty Watson House, we also offer support to palliative clients in the community, as well as holistic health services, a life story recording program, help with Advance Care Planning, and free adult grief support.
